Mayor Sheldon Neeley and members of the Flint Fire Department, alongside Michigan State Fire Marshal Kevin Sehlmeyer and firefighters from Genesee County, gathered at Flint Memorial Park cemetery for the annual Genesee County Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. The service honors 11 fallen heroes from the Flint Fire Department and 2 from the Swartz Creek Fire Department, including Ricky Hill, who passed away on February 25, 2023. Former Firefighter Rico Phillips delivered the keynote speech. The event pays tribute to the brave firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, recognizing their courage and dedication to protecting the community.
