Flint Mayor Restores Online Bill Pay Services

Staff Report / Flintlocal.org

Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley announced today that online bill pay services, which were affected by a cyber attack starting on August 14, have been restored for residents of Flint, Michigan. Residents can now easily pay water, sewer, and tax bills online at www.invoicecloud.com/cityofflintmi. They can log in to the portal to view their account balance, make payments, and set up autopay.

In light of these restored services, the City of Flint is offering a one-month grace period for residents to pay any outstanding bills. Until October 7, 2024, the City will not impose late fees or conduct shutoffs for nonpayment.

Mayor Neeley mentioned that the restoration of the city's phone system is nearing completion, with ongoing testing being conducted in multiple municipal facilities, including Flint City Hall.

The City of Flint recently upgraded its network security measures to include Next Generation firewalls to enhance protection against cyber threats. Data recovery efforts have been successful, and most servers have been restored from backup.

As the City continues to recover its systems, extensive testing and data review are being carried out before public-facing services are brought back online. Advanced software security measures are being implemented across various network components to mitigate the risk of future cyber incidents.

Residents and businesses are advised to stay informed about updates regarding the City's ongoing recovery efforts by visiting the official City of Flint website.
