Free College Opportunities for Flint Graduates Available

Graduates from high schools in Flint, Michigan, have the opportunity to attend local colleges and universities for free through programs such as the Flint Promise. To qualify, students must graduate from a high school within the City of Flint or receive a GED in the city starting in March 2018.

Students are encouraged to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) to apply for grants and scholarships. The 2025-26 FAFSA form will be available starting October 1.

Local institutions that participate in the program include Mott Community College, Flint, and Kettering University. Students are also prompted to complete their college applications.
