Flint Invites Citizens to Discuss Future Plans

Staff Report / Flintlocal.org

The City of Flint is inviting residents to participate in a series of public input meetings regarding the Imagine Flint Comprehensive Plan. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the Hasselbring Senior Community Center.

The focal point of this meeting will be Education and Workforce Development. Discussions will revolve around advancements made in areas such as enhancing educational attainment for youth, expanding employment opportunities, and improving the skills of Flint's adult workforce.

These public meetings are set to continue every Thursday until October 24, all taking place at the Hasselbring Center. Residents will receive updates from the Planning Division on the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in 2013.

City officials note that changes in the community since 2013 necessitate an update to the plan to better align with current community priorities.

For those unable to attend the meetings in person, a survey is available for residents to share their input. The Comprehensive Plan can be viewed online at [City of Flint Comprehensive Plan](https://www.cityofflint.com/comprehensive-plan/). The survey link is [here](https://forms.gle/8UwUytHpGxcq2ETeA).
