NanoGraf Announces Flint Expansion with $60 Million Grant

Staff Report / Flintlocal.org

NanoGraf Corporation officially announced its expansion into Flint, Michigan, during a ceremony attended by Flint Mayor Neeley and Dr. Francis Wang, the company's CEO. The project is supported by a $60 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.

Tim Porcelli, Vice President of Business Development for NanoGraf, stated that the company's decision to establish operations in Flint was based on three primary factors: the availability of an eager and skilled workforce, Flint's rich history in manufacturing, and a community that aligns with NanoGraf's values.

The collaboration aims to create educational partnerships and provide union-supported jobs for Flint residents. Additionally, it seeks to contribute to the nation’s electrification efforts by supplying safe and clean battery materials.
